Denver basketball player Jamal Murray and New York Knicks rookie ARJ Barrett will not play for Canada at the upcoming World Cup in China due to unhealed injuries.
Murray said that he had a great desire to play for the national team at Mundobasket, but that due to an ankle injury, he will not be part of Canada's selection.
The Denver basketball player will be with the team during the preparations, but will not participate in the tournament because he does not want to risk aggravating the injury.
The third pick of this year's NBA draft and the new basketball player of the New York Knicks, RJ Barrett, will also miss the World Cup due to a calf injury.
Andrew Wiggins, Tristan Thompson, Shay Giljus-Alexander and Trey Lyles were dropped from the list even earlier.
