The United States of America (USA) defeated the World Team 151:131 in Chicago in the Rising Stars game on the first day of All Star Weekend in Chicago.

It is a duel between rookies and sophmores, i.e. basketball players who are playing their first and second seasons in the NBA.
Charlotte's Miles Bridges, who finished the match with 20 points and five rebounds and assists and three steals in 20 minutes, was named the most valuable player.

In the winning team, seven more players had a double-digit performance - Eric Pascal was the most efficient with 23 points, Colin Sexton added 21, Trae Young 18, Kendrick Nunn 16, and the first pick from last year's draft, Zion Williamson 14.

In the world team, the best were Canadians A.J. Barrett with 27 and Brandon Clark with 22 points.
Slovenian representative Luka Dončić finished the match with 16 points (6-11 from the field, 4-9 for three).

Dončić managed to hit a three-pointer from half court in the last second of the first half.
On the second day of the All Star, the dunk and quick three-point shooting contests are on the program.
A duel of the biggest stars is scheduled for Sunday.
