Virtus president Luka Baraldi threatened to stop the Eurocup competition.
He said that due to the complex epidemiological situation in the whole of Europe, it is impossible to play games in a normal rhythm, and that the best solution would be not to play until the end of the year, and to continue the season in January or February in a different format.
"We have a problem traveling around Italy, not to mention how it is in Europe. The competition should be stopped, and a new model should be found by January or February. Many clubs have players who are positive, the season is not regular. We, for example, played match in Belgium, a country that is in lockdown. It's a dangerous situation. I'm thinking of withdrawing the team from the Eurocup," said Baraldi.
Other Italian clubs - Trento, Venezia and Brescia - believe that there is no need for such a decision.
"The protocols of the Eurocup are stricter than the protocols of our football Serie A," said Brescia manager Sandro Santoro.
