Serbian basketball player Bogdan Bogdanović will continue his career in the Atlanta Hawks, it was confirmed in the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, reports Sport Club.
On Sunday, information emerged that Bogdanovic signed a four-year, $72 million contract with the Hawks.
Given that he was a restricted free agent, his now former club, the Sacramento Kings, had 48 hours to match the offer and keep Bogdanovic in their ranks.
Since that didn't happen, Atlanta presented the 28-year-old guard as its new player, Sport Club writes.
The franchise from Georgia has already hired Danilo Gallinari, Chris Dunn and Rajon Rondo in recent days.
"Thank you so much to the Sacramento Kings for welcoming me with so much love at the beginning of my NBA career. Thank you for allowing me to be myself and for giving me the opportunity to follow my dreams. Thank you to the fans and the city for your welcome and support. I will miss all my friends, teammates and fans. Thank you," said Bogdanović.
Bogdanović arrived in Sacramento in 2017, and previously defended the colors of Fenerbahçe and Partizan.
There were hints that he could continue his NBA career with the Milwaukee Bucks, but Bogdanović reportedly did not agree to the deal.
In the end, the NBA launched an investigation into the negotiations between the Kings and the Bucks, writes Sport Club.
