The cadet basketball team of Montenegro will train in Tivat until August 3.
The selector Rajko Krivokapić chose 20 players for the camp, and seven boys who were born in 2006 will get a chance, so they will have the right to perform in the cadet competition next summer.
"The situation has not changed this year either, FIBA has decided that there will be no official competition, European championships for younger categories. So we decided to get together and see the condition of the players after this difficult year, especially for the younger categories. We will play matches with the Serbian national team, which is at the very top in all years, and I think it will be a real test to see where this generation is and that we have guidelines for their development, work and progress", said Krivokapić.
The list includes: Vasilije Todorović, Milorad Brajović, Vladimir Sudar, Lazar Mirotic, Matija Đaletić, Igor Gardašević, Mitar Radulović, Petar Kosović, Aleksa Janičić, Andrija Šutović, Andrija Ćetković, Jovan Šoć, Danilo Stanković, David Mirković, Luka Đurović, Maruan Čičić, Aleksa Ašanin, Marko Radunović, Petar Pinter and Bodin Radulović.
"We cannot give a final rating of the generation because there was simply no competition. What is certain is that there are gifted boys. They are 16 years old, two more years until they are seniors, and they have to use those two years in the right way, wash themselves off, improve and as many of them as possible continue playing basketball in seniors. We hope that several of them will be part of the senior national team. That is our goal", said the selector.
The Basketball Association of Montenegro has already organized two camps for pioneers, and preparations for the junior national team are underway.
