A superstar who took the hard way

Janis Adetokumbo was "brutal" in the title game, played the best match of his career, definitely ranked among the best - the ace of Milwaukee scored 50 points in the sixth, decisive game against Phoenix, shooting 16/25 from the field and even 17/ 19 from the penalty line.

And in the entire playoffs, he shot only 55,5 percent of his free throws.

"People told me I don't know how to shoot free throws, and tonight I shot them. And I'm a fucking champion," said Adetokumbo in euphoria after the match...

He was also chosen as the MVP of the final series, in which he averaged 35,2 points, 13,2 rebounds and five assists, with a brilliant 62 percent shooting from the field.

"Thanks to Milwaukee for believing in me. To my teammates who played hard every game. I wanted to do this in this city, with these guys. I'm happy I was able to do it."

Milwaukee defeated Phoenix 105:98 in early jutors in our time and won the NBA championship with a 4:2 victory after exactly 50 years!

Janis signed a new contract a little over half a year ago, after great speculation that he would leave the club...

"I didn't want to leave. There was work to be done. There was no justice in the 'bubble' last year, although I give a lot of respect to Miami that kicked us out. But this is my city, a city that believed in me and in all of us and I'm glad we succeeded. I could have gone to a super team, done my part and become a champion. But I chose the harder way," added the Greek national team player.

Janis arrived in Milwaukee in 2013 as the 15th pick in the draft.

In the same year, Chris Middleton, whom Milwaukee brought in a trade from Detroit, entered his second NBA season.

"We did it, Chris, didn't we?" Janis said and hugged Middleton.

"I'm happy, man. Only he knows how much he pushed me to be great. He pushed me every day and I'm happy that I played every minute with this guy. All the guys are great, but Chris is special. We've been together for eight years and I'm happy that I was able to do this with him and Milwaukee and I say we'll do it again."

Last season, Kostas Adetokumbo became a champion with the LA Lakers, and now all three Adetokumbo brothers (Tanasis is also a member of the Bucks).

"A lot of people made fun of me last year when Kostas won the title and it was a little weird at lunch because he had the ring before me, but now we all have it and I'm happy," Janis said.
