The increased number of infected basketball players in the NBA led to the tightening of measures - the league and the Players' Association (NBPA) agreed on daily testing for the coronavirus around Christmas and New Year.
ESPN reported that the players will be tested from December 26 to January 8, and that masks will also have to be worn by basketball players, members of the coaching staff and team personnel.
Only those who received a booster dose of the vaccine at least two weeks ago will be spared from testing.
Until now, players have been tested once a week, but now there has been a change in the rules, as 52 have been infected.
Because of this, Chicago had to postpone several games, Sacramento closed its training center, and the LA Lakers signed Isiah Thomas to a ten-day contract, after four basketball players were quarantined.
