Budućnost Volija basketball players will play Podgorica in the semi-finals of the Cup of Montenegro, while the second finalist will be decided by the duel between Mornar and Lovcen, it was decided by a draw in the Basketball Association.
The final tournament will be played on February 16 and 17 in the "Bemax Arena" in Podgorica.
The semi-final duels are scheduled for Wednesday until 17.30:20, that is, 20:XNUMX. The final is scheduled for Thursday at XNUMX p.m.
The trophy is defended by Buducnost Volija basketball players, who defeated Mornar 102:93 in last year's final and were the best for the eighth time in a row.
"This is a specific competition, it has to be played twice for 40 minutes in two days to win the trophy. We will have to make a decision with which foreigners we will perform, we will try to find a balance in relation to domestic and foreign players. We followed Podgorica a little more than Lovcen, we know what kind of opponent awaits us. We will get into the whole story seriously," said the coach of the Blues, Aleksandar Džikić.
The Podgorica team won the Montenegrin Cup 14 times, and also has three Cup trophies in FR Yugoslavia. Sutjeska also has a trophy in Montenegro, which was the best in 2013.
"Podgorica is playing the final tournament for the first time, and in the semi-finals we are meeting against the best team in Montenegro." I think that this is a motivation for our players to present themselves in the best light and to try to provide quality resistance to the Future. There is nothing to talk about the quality of the opponent, he showed it in both competitions", explained Podgorica's strategist, Nebojša Bogavac.
The duel between Mornar and Lovcen will be a battle of the wounded - Barani were without Nemanja Gordić and parted with Trejo Luis, while Cetinje were without several players in the "balloon" of the NLB ABA2 league in Banja Luka.
"A team's bad or good day always brings a surprise. Lovćen is a quality, well-led team and it will certainly not be easy for us. I am not in a situation like my colleague Džikić to choose a foreigner against a local player, because we are looking to put together ten healthy players for the Cup. We were left without two playmakers, that problem was felt in Laktaši. There's no whining, we have to quickly regroup and try to play as good games as possible", stressed the head of the Mariners profession, Mihailo Pavićević.
In the team from Priština, they don't get carried away with big things.
"By qualifying for the final tournament of the Cup, we fulfilled our goal. Talking about the quality of the Sailor is ridiculous, he is the favorite in any case. We will try to offer the strongest possible resistance, but considering the state and composition we are in, we are far from being able to threaten. Every minute over 40 would be a success, we don't expect that, we leave it up to you", said Lovcen coach Petar Jovanović to his colleagues from Budućnost and Mornar.
