The Euroleague quarter-final playoff series between Olympiakos and Monaco is entering an unexpected drama.
The "Princes" shocked the Greeks in Piraeus - they celebrated with a convincing 96:72, made a break and tied the series at 1:1.
The next two matches are played in Monte Carlo, and the series will return to Piraeus only in the case of the champion.
With Saša Obradović's team, Mike James shone, who scored 23 points, with five three-pointers, Danilo Andjušić scored 19, and Dwayne Bacon scored 17 points.
Olympiakos led only in the first and the beginning of the second quarter, and only Saša Vezenkov with 14 and Tyler Dorsey with 12 points were above average.
Monaco's series of even 20:0 in the middle of the second quarter decided - from 21:15 for the home team to 35:21 for the visitors. There was no comeback for Olympiakos...
The second match of the quarter-final series will be played tonight by Real Madrid and Maccabi (Madridians lead 1:0), while the score in the matches between Armani - Efes and Barcelona - Bayern is tied (1:1 each).
The Final Four will be played in Belgrade from May 19 to 21.
