Serbian basketball coach Svetislav Pešić said that his team was much better in the match against Greece and that's why they won, and he pointed out that they were "lions" who played an admirable match.
"First of all, I want to thank the fans, playing in this atmosphere is a great motivation for everyone. A great game by both teams, both teams showed character. I think we were a shade better. That's the reason why we won, with the support of the fans, that's what we helped a lot," said Pešić at the press conference.
Serbian basketball players beat the Greek team in Belgrade after overtime with 100:94, in the first game of the second round of World Cup qualifiers.
"Almost no match like this has been played in Belgrade. I'm not euphoric at all, we have a large number of matches ahead of us, but a match like this in front of such fans, where everyone fought until the end..." said Pešić.
"I said before - Greece is the best team in Europe and tonight they demonstrated it. They showed what makes a great team, athletics, speed, experience, morale, which we didn't lack either, they came back several times, and we we endured it all," he added.
In addition to the support of the audience, Pešić singled out another thing that made his team win.
"I think that the two best or among the best defenders in Europe, Slukas and Kalates, did such a job tonight... We excluded them from the game," said Pešić.

Pešić also pointed out that Turkey, Serbia's next opponent, lost to Latvia tonight.
"You criticized me, who are these Latvians, here they got Turkey, which will be a candidate for a medal at the European Championship, and Latvia is not going to the championship. We won the game tonight, and despite those two points and the victory, the players saw that they could do it. They played an admirable game. Those are my lions, they were real lions tonight," said Pešić.
