The last quarter-finalist of the European Basketball Championship is Greece, which tonight defeated the Czech Republic 94:88.
Hellenes celebrated in an uncertain match, and they broke the game five minutes before the end when, after Larencakis' three-pointer, they gained an eight-point advantage for the first time (88:80).
The Czechs played the best game of the tournament. In the first quarter, they were losing 16:6, and then went on a 12:0 run to take an 18:6 lead. After that, there was a lot of uncertainty, and after 30 minutes the "dumplings" were leading 67:63.
At the start of the fourth quarter, the Greeks scored six points, took a 69:67 lead and did not let go of the advantage until the end of the match.
In the finish, there was a plus 10 for Adetokumba and his teammates (88:78).
Adetokumbo was the most effective in the Greek selection with 27 points, 10 rebounds and five assists. Nik Kalates scored 14 points, with five rebounds and six assists.
With the Czechs, Jan Veseli finished the match with 21 points, while Hruban added 17 points.
Tomaš Satoranski had as many as 17 assists.
Greece will play Germany in the quarter-finals.
