A great victory over Hapoel in Tel Aviv (70:64) heralded better days for the Buducnost Voli basketball players.
After the break due to the FIBA "window" and a large number of absent players, the "blues" did not perform well, they somehow pulled out victories over Zadar and Cibona, but tonight in Israel they showed that they can play excellent basketball.
This applies especially to Alf Kaba, who dominated in both rackets and finished the match with 17 points and 14 rebounds.
"We lost the previous game against Paris, which we should have won. We had to regulate, we knew how Hapoel plays, with a lot of intensity in front of incredible fans and we knew it would not be easy at all. We won and we are happy," said the French center.
In addition to Kaba, Cameron Reynolds was also excellent, making five three-pointers in the 1st quarter.
"I can't say it was easy for me. Sometimes we play well, sometimes badly, and today Reynolds was in rhythm, he did what he knows best and I'm happy for him. He is a great shooter, we need him at this level in every game," said the 26-year-old basketball player.
Jovanović was understandably happy.
"We opened the game very well, with a great three-point shot. I expected Hapoel's reaction in the 2nd half, and in one period we had a problem with the opponent's offensive jump. When we solved that, we took control of the match again and triumphed," emphasized the coach of the Blues.
Bubućnost, interestingly, has a score of 3:0 away from home in the Eurocup, while "Morača" recorded a win and two losses.
"There are still many games ahead of us, each one is important. We have already missed some opportunities to triumph at home, that's why this victory is even more important".
