The Minister of Sports and Youth, Vasilije Lalošević, today received the president of the Basketball Association of Montenegro, Nikola Peković, and the new director of the national basketball team, former basketball ace of Budućnost, Dragan Vukčević.
"At the meeting, the future activities of the association were discussed, as well as participation in qualifying matches, where there is a real chance that the women's basketball team will qualify for the European Championship. There was also talk of the so-called basketball 'windows' where the men's basketball team needs only one more victory for qualifying for the World Championship. It was concluded that last year was extremely successful when it comes to basketball, where both junior and senior selections had excellent results in both competitions," the Ministry announced.
It is reported that Lalošević praised the activities of the Basketball Association of Montenegro and pointed out that the Ministry of Sports and Youth will continue to support KSCG, as it has been until now.
"Peković and Vukčević thanked the extremely good cooperation of the Ministry of Sports and Youth and their association. The meeting was also attended by Zoran Jojić, Acting Director of the Directorate for Sports, Ministry of Sports and Youth," the statement concluded.
