Nebojša Bogavac: We want to go to the final tournament, and then everything is possible

From the "balloon" of the NLB ABA2 League in Banja Luka, Podgorica basketball players returned with three victories - Nebojša Bogavac's team defeated Široki, Osijek and Gorica, and counting the previous tournament in Zlatibor, tied four victories with a score of 6-4 and realistic goals to if he reaches the final eight, the last "balloon" awaits in Široki Brijeg at the beginning of March.

- I am generally satisfied with the "balloon" in Banja Luka. This is a great success for the club. The first game against Široki showed that we can do it. We played well, regardless of the fact that we were behind in the 1st half. We waited for the fall of our rivals, gave our best and achieved victory with great desire and fighting spirit. We expected to be able to beat Osijek and Gorica, but we ended the performance with more victories, which gives us the right to hope for a place in the final tournament - sums up Bogavac's impressions from Banja Luka for "Vijesti".

Sloga, Široki and Pelister have the same score as Podgorica. And what suits the Montenegrin team is the fact that it is better in the mutual score than the teams from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, while they will play with Pelister in the last round, when everything is expected to be resolved.

- The good thing is that we are better than Sloga and Široki in each other's score. We still have Pelister in the last round, but I think everything could be settled before that match. We have a month to prepare and I think that the young team will not lack fighting spirit and the desire to get a good result.

Bogavac is satisfied with the progress of the young players during the season. Podgorica is one of the youngest teams in the league.

- Every player made a step forward. We wanted to have a young team, the oldest is 24 years old. We play very good basketball, beautiful to watch, combative, aggressive... Through such an approach to the game, the boys progress. It is important that everyone gives their maximum in the roles they have and that progress can be seen in each of them - believes Bogavac.

Podgorica is one step away from fulfilling its goals for this season.

- We have two goals - to go to the final tournament and to place again in the ABA2 league through the Montenegrin championship. We are on our way to be among those two teams. The goal of the club is to develop and affirm young players. There are Filip Anđušić, Luka Bogavac, Viktor Vujisić, Pavle Đurišić, Marko Kljajević, Jovan Vojinović. We are waiting for Ognjen Čarapić to return after his injury. These are players who are at a turning point, they are not in the notebooks of Budućnost, SC Derbi and Mornar, and they are the best at that age. If we fulfill these two goals and confirm a player, it would be a complete success. And on the other hand, nothing is known about the final tournament. We all like winning more. There might be some surprises. But, first, let's advance, and if the chance arises, we won't run away from it - the once great shooter is clear.

I am satisfied with Luka's approach and desire

One of the players in the team is Luka Bogavac, the son of the coach of Podgorica. The young Montenegrin representative arrived from Mega during the season and played a good tournament in Banja Luka.

"I am his father and it is difficult for me to comment on my child. I would leave that to the public, which follows and passes judgment. I am satisfied with his approach and desire. It promises that it can progress. He came back from Mega and I think it's a good move for a young player. He came to play, fight for his place in the team and if he continues like this, then it will be to the mutual satisfaction of both him and the club - said the elder Bogavac.
