The basketball team of Montenegro gathered today in Podgorica before two matches in the last "window" of the Mundobasket qualifiers.
On February 23, Boško Radović's team plays against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Tuzla, three days later they meet the Czech Republic in "Morača" and are in an excellent position to qualify for the World Cup for the second time in a row.
Montenegro is third in the group and a victory against BiH is enough for it, and even a defeat with less than 19 points difference, but on the condition that it then defeats the Czechs.
"Two difficult games await us, against two difficult opponents. We are focused on the match with Bosnia and Herzegovina. We know each other well. What I would emphasize is that we go game by game, modestly and quietly, so as not to deal with calculations. We are concentrating on the match with Bosnia and Herzegovina - that match can decide everything, and the match with the Czech Republic can also be decisive. We approach every match seriously. I hope it will be the same now and that we will qualify for the World Cup," coach Radović said at the gathering.
In this "window" too, Montenegro has personnel problems.
"As in all the 'windows' so far, we have problems regarding the roster. Radončić and Mihailović, two important players, were injured. We have other basketball players, who, I hope, will replace them in the right way. We are already used to injuries. we played the window without Popović and Peri, so as far as injuries are concerned, we are used to fighting with it and managing in those situations."
Kendrick Perry was not present at today's gathering, who is playing in the Spanish King's Cup with Unicaja, and who will join the team after that competition.
"As for Peri - he played great against Barcelona, tonight he plays against Real. If Unicaja wins, he will still stay there. If Unicaja loses, he will go to Montenegro tomorrow. We will only have a few training sessions with him. We will not change anything special , I think he will quickly grasp what is required of him," Radović believes.
The selector is satisfied with the form of the national team.
"I am satisfied. Most of the players who are here have roles in their teams. Some started the season well, so they were injured. We follow them, we are in contact with them and we are ready for these games," concluded Radović.
