Gregg Popovich arrived in San Antonio in 1996, and everything after that was history. The love affair between him and Spurs that began then is still going on, and by all accounts it will continue until at least 2026.
According to the American media, the legendary coach and the club from Texas agreed on continued cooperation, and according to "Spurs Talk" he will receive 42 million dollars for the new three-year contract.
Popovic was the NBA champion five times with the Spurs, and although the last title in San Antonio arrived in 2014, in this part of Texas they look forward to the next season, which should be led by the first pick in this year's draft, Viktor Vembanjama.
He was chosen as the best coach of the NBA league three times - in 2003, 2012 and 2014.
