Škerović: France took advantage of our every mistake, we have chances against Serbia

Montenegro stopped in the quarter-finals of Eurobasket, but our basketball players have nothing to regret after the convincing defeat by France - 89:46.

Head coach Jelena Škerović knows that the difference in quality is big.

"You could see the experience and determination of the French women in matches like this. They were aggressive from the beginning, psychologically they were at a higher level than in the group stage and they took advantage of every mistake we made in defense, hit every shot..." said Škerović.

Next is the match against Serbia on Saturday, which is very important - whoever wins will qualify for the Olympic Games.

"We have enough time to prepare, but the most important thing is to recover psychologically, not to experience this as a disaster. We need to be realistic, France is a much better team than us and we need to learn from it. Against Serbia, we need energy and combativeness that have graced us so far," the coach pointed out and added:

"We played with them at the beginning of the preparations and I think we have a chance. The question is who will recover psychologically and emotionally first, who is more prepared in that sense will be closer to victory," Škerović concluded.
