Serbia is in the quarter-finals of the Mundobasket, but there is concern in the "eagles" camp - Serbian basketball player and national team player Borisa Simanić had his kidney removed during his stay in the Philippines.
Simanić suffered a serious injury during the match between Serbia and South Sudan, the last in the Mundobasket group stage. Boriša ended up in the hospital, he had to undergo an operation, and things got especially complicated after two or three days.
The situation became more serious and his injured kidney was removed. The information was also mentioned by the basketball coach Duško Vujošević, who said at the Sport Club that Simanić was left without the mentioned organ, but, according to information from the portal nova.rs, he is feeling well.
"I don't know yesterday, I didn't follow if you said about Borisa Simanić that he lost a kidney... No, today is that information? It's hard news, since I'm a kidney patient, I know that with one kidney you can function absolutely normally, but it's not an easy thing. You see how much that medal has another side, how much efforts and risks there are and can happen even from some seemingly banal situations. That affected us all today, but he will continue his life, to play sports and I wish him all the best," Vujošević said during the analysis at SK.
