The Serbian national basketball team and coach Svetislav Pešić will each receive 25.000 euros for winning a silver medal at the World Championships in the Philippines, Japan and Indonesia, it was announced after today's session of the Government of Serbia.
As it was announced, for the silver medal won in the Olympic discipline, all members of the basketball team and their coach Svetislav Pešić were awarded 25.000 euros in dinar equivalent.
Serbian basketball players lost in the final of the World Championship against Germany with 77:83.
Also, Serbian basketball players were awarded, who defended the gold at the European three-on-three basketball championship in Jerusalem.
According to the government's decision, players Marko Branković, Nemanja Barać, Stefan Kojić and Strahinja Stojačić, as well as their coach Marko Ždero, will receive a prize of 20.000 euros each.
The basketball players became the champions of Europe for the fifth time in a row after they beat Lithuania in the final with 22:20.
