Golden State coach Steve Kerr said he was devastated by the sudden death of Dejan Milojević.
Dejan Milojević died at the age of 47. The former wing center and coach of Buducnosti fell ill in Salt Lake City, where he and his colleagues from the Golden State Warriors had a team dinner before the match against Utah.
In Golden State, Milojević was in charge of working with the centers.
"In addition to being a great basketball coach, Dejan was one of the most positive and best human beings I have ever known. He brought happiness and light into every day with his passion and energy," said Steve Kerr, Golden State coach who on the occasion of the death of Dejan Milojević, published a special statement.
"We are absolutely devastated by the sudden death of Dejan Milojević, this is a shocking and tragic blow for everyone associated with the Warriors and an incredibly difficult time for his family, friends and all of us who had the incredible pleasure of working with him. We mourn with his wife Nataša and their children Nikola and Maša," reads the Warriors' announcement.
Milojević was recently a guest on the "Alesto" podcast, with sports journalist Aleksandar Stojanović, when he talked about the plans...
"I don't make long-term plans at all. Literally, year after year. I want to enjoy the year I'm in, to make that year, that month, that week and that day go as well as possible. What am I looking forward to? Today's game with Detroit and tomorrow's meeting with Darko and Ivo. Those are my expectations for next week," Milojević said then, with a smile.
