Podgorica and Budućnost Bemax will play tomorrow (17) in Tivat in the final of the Cup of Montenegro for women's basketball.
Today, in the semi-finals, Podgorica defeated Trebjesa (74:42), while Budućnost was better than Primorje (113:43).
Podgorica started a 10:0 run against Trebjesa and took a 19:6 lead, and at the beginning of the second quarter they had a 17-point advantage (29:12).
In the second half, Petar Stojanović's team had a 24-point advantage - 53:29, after Vučinić made a three-pointer.
In the Podgorica team, Lana Vukčević had a double-double (22 points, 16 rebounds), Atina Radević scored 14, while in the Trebjesa team, Mila Mijušković was the most effective with 15 points and 12 rebounds.
"I congratulate the girls on reaching the final of the Cup, we justified our role as favourites. Congratulations and Trebjesa, because it is a young and talented team, so we were able to watch a nice game. We met the goal, and now we turn to the final, where Buducnost Bemax is the absolute favorite. Certainly that match will be a great experience for us, let's see where we are at this moment," said Podgorica coach Petar Stojanović.
In the second semi-final, Budućnost routinely did the job against Primorje. The winner was known after the first quarter, when Vladan Radović's team had a 26-point advantage - 32:6.
"A match that brought the expected epilogue, because we were the absolute favorites. The girls entered as seriously as possible from the start, which is very important, that when we play any match in any competition, that we are at the right level. In the final match, we expect a much more difficult task, because Podgorica is a team that has great and talented players, where there are also three girls who train with us and play for Buducnost in the WABA League, which will be an opportunity for them to impose themselves. It will certainly be a nice game in which there will be many younger player," said Buducnost Bemaks coach Vladan Radović.
In the Budućnosti team, Baošić was the most effective with 15 points. Drobnjak, Savković and Bulajić each added 14 points, Ilić 13, and Domuzin 10 points.
With Novljanka, Sarić scored 12 points and Radulović scored 10 points.
