The battle for placement in the AdmiralBet ABA League playoffs continues, and one of the teams fighting for the playoffs is SC Derby.
In the previous round, the Podgorica team lost in Zagreb against Cibona (94:82), so they missed the opportunity to make their work easier before the season continues. Because of this, but also the difficult schedule in the finish (matches against Mega, Partizan, Zvezda and Budućnost), SC Derby tomorrow (17) in "Morača" must beat FMP, in order to remain in the race for placement among the top eight.
"Compared to the first game, FMP changed more than half of the team and two coaches. In my opinion, it is a team that is certainly not for the lower part of the table. They play better every game, you can see that they are more and more coordinated. They have a combination of strength and speed, youth and experienced players and it will be very difficult to play against them," said Jakar, who made his debut on the SC Derby bench against FMP on November 26 last year, in the announcement of the match.
Derby's big rival for placing among the eight is Split, who defeated Mornar in this round, so now they have the same number of wins as the "students", who are better than each other. If they beat FMP, Jakar's team will tie with Igoke (the team from Laktaš is better than each other, lost on Thursday against Zadar), and they will follow the development of the match between Mega and Cibona, which will be played on Tuesday in Belgrade. Mega currently has one more victory, and in the next round, on Sunday, March 17, they will be facing SC Derby.

The loss against Cibona in Zagreb put us in a situation where absolutely every match is important for us until the end of the season. We welcome FMP, a team that changed a lot during the season, but he has been playing extremely well in the last three matches. They have also recorded two victories. They have experienced players, for sure the match will not be easy at all. We have no calculations, only a win provides us with a chance to play in the playoffs, so we will do our best to celebrate." , said SC Derbi basketball player Igor Drobnjak.
