The selector of the Greek national basketball team, Vasilis Spanulis, said that Janis Adetokunbo will play for that selection in the qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games.
At the beginning of April, Adetokunbo injured his calf in an NBA game against Boston, so he also missed the playoffs, in which Milwaukee was eliminated by Indiana.
"Janis will join the national team. He will play in the qualifying tournament," said Spanulis.
Greece hosts one of the four qualifying tournaments. The domestic selection is in a group with Egypt and the Dominican Republic. In the second group are Croatia, Slovenia and New Zealand.
Qualifications are scheduled from July 2 to 7.
The winner of the tournament goes to the Olympics.
