After two seasons of working with Peristeri, Vasilis Spanulis decided to leave the club.
Yesterday, in the match for third place, Peristeri defeated Aris (75:71) and ended the season, and after the match Spanulis announced that he was leaving the club.
Spanulis is leaving the team, because he failed to agree on further plans with the club's management.
"I talked to the management, my work at Peristeri is finished. The management did not want us to continue with the plan we had," said Spanulis.
Spanoulis and the Greek national team expect to qualify for the Olympic Games this summer.
"I will concentrate on the work with the Greek national team. All Greeks must support the national team," said the Greek coach
This season, Spanulis won fourth place in the FIBA Champions League with Peristeri, and was declared the best coach in that competition.
