Montenegro failed to win at the start of the qualification tournament for the Olympic Games - Boško Radović's team was defeated by Brazil today in Riga (81:72).
Our selection led for most of the match, and had the last advantage at five minutes and 39 seconds to the end, when Nikola Vucevic scored for 67:65. After that, the advantage was constantly on the side of the rival, who reached the premier victory in the Baltic.
"We started the game well. We had good energy and concentration. I'm sorry that we lost the advantage at the end. Brazil obviously had a good plan with Vucevic and Peri. There is nothing to think about, we did our best. At the start we had tough match. Tomorrow we play with Cameroon - if we win, we will go on. I am proud of the boys," said Dino Radončić after the match.
Bruno Caboclo led Brazil to victory with 25 points.
"I feel great. I enjoy a lot being in the national team. I can focus, enjoy, play freely. I love being with these players, Kaboklo said after the match.
He also referred to the duel with Nikola Vučević.
“I've been working hard and I think it's paying off now. Nikola Vucevic is a very strong player, physically strong, big. But I have a bigger arm span and I can bother him on the shot, block him. A great player and I'm glad I had the opportunity to play against him", said Kaboklo.
Montenegro plays against Cameroon tomorrow (14:30), while Brazil is free tomorrow.
