Buducnost Volija basketball players will play in group A of the Eurocup together with Hapoel Tel Aviv, Gran Canaria, Juventud, Ulm, Trento, Besiktas, Bahcesehir, BC Wolves and Treflo from Sopot, it was decided at today's draw.
Taking into account the restrictions of the draw, the people of Podgorica knew five of the nine rivals in the second strongest European club competition, and the list of rivals is complete today.
And it brought a rather difficult draw for Andrej Žakel's team, because there are Hapoel Tel Aviv and Gran Canaria, who have been among the top favorites to win the Eurocup for several seasons.
The people of Podgorica also drew the Spanish Huventud, who will visit "Morača" for the first time, as well as the Polish Trefl from Sopot, a newcomer to the Eurocup, on whose bench sits former Croatian national team member Žan Tabak.
It was known earlier that Dejan Radonjić will return to "Morača" with his Bahčešekira (national team member Marko Simonović is also arriving), and that the rival from Turkey will also be Beşiktaş from Istanbul, led by the talented Serbian coach Dusan Alimpijević on the bench and former Montenegrin national team member Derik Nidam on the field.
It was also known that the rivals will be old acquaintances of the people of Podgorica - Italy's Trento and Germany's Ulm, and that BV Wolves, a young Lithuanian club that has only existed for two years and is led by former Lithuanian national team member Rimantis Kaukenas, will be visiting Podgorica for the first time.
Group Eurocup starts on September 24 and will last until February 4.
The two first-placed teams from the two groups will go directly to the quarterfinals, while the teams that take 3rd to 6th place will play in the round of XNUMX.
Buducnost Voli didn't make the playoffs last season because they finished seventh in Group B. Maybe the best Montenegrin team will have better luck in Group A this year.
