KSCG replied to Šćekić: It was immediately clear that the increased budget was not enough

Reaction to reaction - after today's announcement by the Ministry of Sports and Youth, the Basketball Association of Montenegro announced itself.

Our basketball players are not going to Mexico City for pre-qualifications for the World Cup, KSCG blamed Minister Dragoslav Šćekić for that, and he said that "KSC privca found it in their ranks".

What did KSCG say now? We transmit the announcement in its entirety:

"After today's announcement by Dragoslav Šćekić, the Minister of Sports and Youth of Montenegro, the Basketball Federation of Montenegro feels the duty to issue a statement and respond to the mentioned minister.

"Dragoslav Šćekić may be a "guy for everything" - from healthcare to sports - but he is not from the truth. When the invitation arrived from FIBA ​​to go to the pre-qualifications for the World Cup, we had a conversation with him, got a promise that he would provide money and only then participate confirmed by FIBA.

Just to refresh Mr. Šćekić's memory - he made his personal promise on the day when there was a press conference where this year's allocation of funds to all sports associations, including the Basketball one, was presented.

It was already clear to us and to him that the increased budget would not be enough to cover FIBA's invitation, which arrived after this year's plans of both the Federation and the Ministry of Sports had been completed.

He made the promise personally and directly to the president of the Association, Jelena Dubljević. From the promise, we have now reached the statement from the minister's department that the pre-qualification tournament is not participation in the World Cup and that there were no legal prerequisites for the allocation of funds by the Ministry of Sports and Youth.

If they didn't - why did he promise to provide the money?

It is equally possible to trust, as well as his promises, his claim that he personally provided sponsors for the Alliance. Let him publicly say which sponsorships he provided!

We claim that his sponsorships for the Basketball Association of Montenegro are unprecedented - because no one has ever seen them. However, Dragoslav Šćekić completely exposed himself with his "answer" to the Alliance.

Namely, he states that "it is symptomatic that sponsors showed disinterest in sponsoring the Basketball Association led by president Jelena Dubljević at the mention of the Association's leadership". Who are the sponsors?

Dear Minister, "I'm sorry" that at the head of the Association is one of the most important basketball players in the history of Montenegro, who won numerous trophies during her senior career, including the American WNBA championship.

And what qualified you for the chair in the Ministry of Sports from which you spew false promises and false claims? We are eagerly awaiting your answer, so we will have more to say," reads the response of the Basketball Association.
