Vladan Radović left the Buducnost Bemax basketball team after five seasons and after a mutually agreed termination of the contract, and the club from Podgorica quickly found a solution - Petar Stojanović is the new head of the coaching staff.
The club reminds that Stojanović, who ended his playing career during the national team's preparations, has been a member of Budućnost Bemax for four years.
"During four seasons, he led our branch, the Podgorica team, which under his leadership was vice-champion four times and played in three Cup finals, while the Podgorica juniors were the champions of Montenegro for the last two seasons. For three seasons he led our under-17 team, was champion and vice-champion of the regional competition, and before coming to Podgorica he worked with Zoran Kašćelan in the Lovćen team," Budućnosti reports.
After that, he independently led the Cetinje team for two seasons, and three times he won the national championship titles with the cadets from Lovćen.
"As a very young coach, this is a great honor for me and I really owe a lot of thanks to the people from the club, who trusted me. We all know what Buducnost means for Montenegrin basketball, as well as regional basketball, where it has become a brand with consistently good results and one of the most important For sure, this is a new, big challenge for me, but also a big motive," said Stojanović.
As he emphasized, the mitigating circumstance for him will be the fact that he trained every player who is currently a member of Buducnost.
"Whether in Lovcen or in Podgorica or in the younger selections of Budućnost, so we know each other very well and there will certainly be no problem to enter into a new story," added Stojanović, who led the women's cadet national team for two years, introduced in the A division, and is currently the selector of the female junior national team of Montenegro.
The club explained that now former coach Radović wanted a new challenge in his coaching career.
"He first led the cadets and juniors of Budućnosti during one season, as well as the under-15 team in the WABA league, and the senior team in domestic competitions, and then he took over the first team from Goran Bošković. As the first coach of the Blues, Radović won the title of the WABA League in 2020, he was the vice-champion of the regional competition four times, he won four titles of the champion of Montenegro and five Cup trophies", concludes Budućnosti.
