The junior basketball team of Montenegro qualified for the quarterfinals of the European Championship B division, which is held in Skopje.
Last night, in the last match of the group stage, Montenegro defeated Romania 91:83, and won first place in the group. Our selection will play against Poland in the quarter-finals, and that match is scheduled for Friday (13:30 p.m.).
The juniors came to victory after a big turnaround, since they were losing 58:37 at halftime.
After Aljoša Drašković's three-pointer, in the 34th minute, Montenegro created a turnaround and took the lead 73:71, only for Lazar Čarapić to put an end to the game when, 77 seconds before the end, he hit a three-pointer for 87:80.
Aljoša Drašković and Marko Radunović each scored 17, Maruan Čičić added a point less, and Šefćet Bećiragić was also in double figures with 11 points.
Denil Krnić (8), Luka Đurović (7), Lazar Čarapić (5), Andrija Vujačić and Marko Pavlović (3 each), Vladimir Komnenović and Petar Pinter (2 each) also scored.
