The junior basketball team of Montenegro finished its performance at the European Championship B division in fifth place.
In the last match of the competition in Skopje, coach Marko Sekulić's team defeated Switzerland 77:57 and won fifth place.
Montenegro recorded five wins and only two losses at the championship, but the failure of Poland prevented our juniors from reaching the semi-finals, which would have given them a chance to fight for the A division.
Just like against the Czech Republic at the start of the promotion phase from 5th to 8th place, so today against Switzerland, Montenegro showed that it is of much better quality, so it easily reached the victory.
In the first quarter, it was 21:17, but already in the second part, with a score of 24:8, Montenegro reached a 20-point advantage (45:25), so it was clear that the routine on the way to triumph was to follow.
Marko Radunović had a double-double performance (16 points, 13 rebounds), Andrija Vujacić added 15, Danilo Nikezić nine, while Marko Pavlović had six rebounds in addition to nine points.
Luka Đurović scored seven, Denil Krnić six, Petar Pinter and Maruan Čičić four each, Lazar Čarapić three, Šefćet Bećiragić two, with six rebounds, and Vladimir Komnenović had the same goal-scoring performance.
