The first of two general checks before the start of the new season ended with a victory - thanks to the coolness of the guys who should bring additional quality to Buducnost Voli this season.
The Montenegrin champion, with a victory over Split 86:84, qualified for the finals of the tournament in Široki Brijeg, which is organized on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the founding of Široki.
Even though it was a friendly match, it brought excitement in the end, and in order for the victory to go to Budućnost, reinforcements with numbers zero and one - Džuvan Morgan and Rashid Sulaimon - made an effort in the finish.
Buducnost entered the last minute of the match with 80:79, and then at 36 seconds Sulaimon hit a three-pointer (83:79), and Morgan made two free throws for 85:81.
However, it wasn't over there either, as Antonio Jordano shot from outside the 6,75 line to reduce the score to 85:84, then Sulaimon hit a penalty, so that Morgan stopped Split's last attack to advance to the finals.
And while the mentioned tandem shone in the finish, during the game Budućnost was once again led by the great Kenan Kamenjaš with 15 points and 10 rebounds, McKinley Wright with 12 points and five assists, while Fletcher Magee scored 11 - three out of four three-pointers.
Morgan finished the match with 10 points and eight rebounds, and Sulaimon with seven points and five assists.
On the other side, David Škara scored 18 points.
In the final, Buducnost will play against the better team from the duel Široki - Zadar (20:XNUMX).
