Cibona was forgotten, the real answer came against another Croatian team - SC Derbi's basketball players played a great match against Zadar and in the third round of the Admirabet ABA League achieved their second victory (86:62).
"In most of the game, we looked very good in both directions, and we reduced a good team like Zadar - not only for us but for the entire league - to 62 points. We played hard, aggressively and generally showed a different image compared to Zagreb - in terms of approach and energy," said the coach of the "students" Petar Mijović after the match in "Morača.
Victories like tonight's are always a special stimulus for young teams like his.
"Yes, I am satisfied, apart from a few more experienced players, we have a relatively young team and it is very important that we show the ability to raise both technical and tactical matters, as well as focus and concentration in relation to the important points of our rivals. Even when they scored, we kept our agreement and I see that as a step forward," Mijović added.
Center Zoran Nikolić once again showed that he will be a great reinforcement - against the team from Zadar, he scored 12 points, and had six rebounds and two blocks.
"That's his job, he's very experienced, he has a large number of seasons behind him and at a higher level - he brings us peace, security and everything is already in sight. It may be important that extra motivation is awakened in him, so that the execution is even better at a higher level. In any case, we are working well as a team and there is room to play even better".
A holiday is scheduled for Saturday - Partizan is coming to Morač.
"We made a good overture and I hope that we will honor ourselves with a good performance against a big team - from such matches, regardless of the outcome, you show better. We are looking forward to the match and we hope that the audience will also recognize something", said Mijović. .
He continued in a similar tone when it comes to the empty stands.
"We wonder why there are no Montenegrin players, and I ask - where is the audience. Not fans, but basketball fans to come to 'Morača' and see 11 Montenegrin players, since our mouths are full of such stories," concluded Mijović.
Zadar coach Danijel Jusup described the events in Podgorica in a simple way.
"SC Derbi won all quarters, and when that's the case, then it's clear that the winner dominated. He was aggressive, that rewarded him, and he also had a good three-point shooting average. We look bad, I expect more from my players - in in the first row from Amar Gegić, who has to bring more to the team," Jusup pointed out.
