For the first time in the season, SC Derby's basketball players succumbed to "Morača", in a duel in which they missed the chance to, if nothing else, make life miserable for Partizan at the end of the third quarter.
"Students" suffered their second defeat in the AdmiralBet ABA League (80:60), in the end it turned out to be routine for the favorite, although the team from Podgorica at the end of the third period at minus six (56:50) had four attacks to reduce the deficit and completely come back to the match.
They did not succeed, Partizan repelled that surge already at the beginning of the last quarter, reaching a 14-point advantage and easily brought the match to an end for the fourth triumph in as many matches in the regional competition...
Partizan started the duel much better, in the first 12 minutes scored seven three-pointers from 11 attempts, but Petar Mijović's team did not lose their heads even though they were in the red all the time.
The "Black and Whites" went to the big break with a plus 11 (46:35), and the third quarter started badly - at 50:38 for the visitors, Mijović was dissatisfied with the refereeing and received a technical foul, and then was sent off.
Partizan then took the lead 52:38, but Derbi reacted and almost got back into the match twenty minutes later...
The last three minutes of the third period were decisive, when Partizan completely stopped attacking, and the hosts, through Luka Bogavac and David Mirković, missed ideal chances to restore uncertainty in several attacks.
After 30 minutes, Partizan had 58:50, and then 62:50 when it was clear that the Derby had lost its momentum.
Emir Hadžibegović was the most effective in the Derby with 13 points, Eric Neal and Bogavac scored 10 each, while Karlik Jones (19) was the dominant figure in Partizan.
