After the victory over Lovcen in the First Montenegrin Basketball League, Podgorica Bemax recorded its first triumph in the regional competition - the team from the capital last night defeated Pelister 90:79 in the second round at home.
Podgorica recorded both of these triumphs under the leadership of Boško Radović, who recently took over the team.
Podgorica made a big turnaround against Pelister in the last quarter - the team from Bitola led 75:68, and then Radović's team went on a 21:1 run, which was concluded by Scott for 89:76 with 42 seconds left.
"One very difficult game against a very serious opponent, perhaps in my opinion the strongest in this group. A very important victory for us, because we have already experienced one defeat at home, so the second one would take us quite far from our goal, which is passing As for the match itself, we didn't control things for three quarters, and everything we agreed on was shaky, especially the defense," said Radović after the match.
Podgorica achieved its first triumph, after losing to Joker at the start.
"We were practically defenseless for three quarters, without using fouls before the bonus, without responsibility, but we showed character, energy and strength in the last quarter. In the last quarter, we played great defense, scored some easy points and turned the game around. In this moment a really big victory for us," said Radović.
In the second match of this group, Joker and Široki meet tonight.
"Congratulations to Podgorica for the victory. Really incredible turnaround in the last three to four minutes. We were disturbed by Edwards' fourth foul, I had to make a change, then we lost an uncharacteristic five balls and in the end we literally gave them into their hands and then they had easy points "An incredible drop in the last three minutes.
