Podgorica Bemax basketball players defeated Sutjeska Elektroprivreda 68:67 in the opening match of the 5th round of the First A men's Montenegrin basketball league.
Although they were in the lead the whole match, the home team broke the resistance of the visitors only in the last moments. Scott hit a free throw 12 seconds before the end for 68:67, Nikšić had the last attack to win, but Mitrović was not accurate from a difficult position.
For Podgorica, this is the sixth consecutive triumph in both competitions, each under Boško Radović.
"It's a really good series, including the NLB ABA 2 league. We still don't have the experience to solve these kinds of games, but we are once again in a situation where the last shot decides, but I think we deserved the victory. I congratulate Sutjeska on a good game and we will try to continue in a good way rhythm," said Boško Radović, coach of Podgorica Bemax.
In the Podgorica Bemax team, four players were in double figures - Scott scored 14 points and had nine assists, Đurišić and Brnović added 13 each (both six rebounds), while Živanović scored 11.
In the team from Nikšić, Webster scored 14, Spasojević 11, Starovlah 10 points...
"Almost the entire match was equal, so it would have been deserved if Sutjeska had celebrated. But, congratulations to the Podgorica team. It feels like we were disturbed by the defeat against Teod, but there are things that make me happy, especially the defense, because we played defensively very good, offensively it didn't work the best, so we need more concentration," said Sutjeska Elektroprivreda coach Dragan Bajić.
