After two consecutive guest appearances, Buducnost Voli is back at home - "blue" will welcome Mega tomorrow (19) in the 7th round of the AdmiralBet ABA League.
Unlike the regional competition, where they lost only one game, Buducnost is 2-4 in the Eurocup, and suffered their last defeat on Wednesday against Hapoel Tel Aviv in Bulgaria.
The coach of Budućnosti, Andrej Žakelj, is looking for a reaction from the team after the defeat in Bulgaria at the upcoming match, and says that Mega is a talented team, which plays the fastest basketball in the regional competition.
"A good team is coming to visit us. Mega is a well-led team. They play the fastest basketball in the ABA league, with a lot of talent, they are aggressive. We have to react after the defeat against Hapoel, to prepare as much as possible and work on ourselves." Žakelj said in the announcement of the match.
The Slovenian coach analyzed the rival, who in the current part of the AdmiralBet ABA League season recorded four wins, with two losses.
"We know where Mega has the greatest strength. Defensively we have to be at a much better level and control the jump. They are a talented team, they have a lot of freedom in the game, especially in transition. From the defenders to the tall players - everyone can transfer the ball, play one for one. They need a lot of focus, speed and reaction after the attack. They have individuals who have the ability to play like that and use it in the best way," said Žakelj.
Đorđije Jovanović got a chance against Hapoel in the second half, and the match ended with eight scored points.
"We need to show an answer after the defeat against Hapoel. Mega is a young, energetic team, which plays fast basketball at both ends of the court. It is up to us to prepare as well as possible, to interrupt their fast game in defense. And after that defense, we should follow our attack, from which our confidence and everything else will come. So we should try to prepare as well as possible and show a response after the defeat in the Eurocup, said Jovanović.
