After three rounds of the NLB ABA2 league, Sutjeska's basketball players have two wins and a loss, they are still in the game for placement in the next phase, and tonight (18) they are visiting Vojvodina in Novi Sad in the fourth round of group B.
Two weeks ago, Sutjeska defeated the Novi Sad team in Nikšić (96:79), but after that they suffered two defeats in the First Montenegrin Basketball League - against Teod and Podgorica, teams that compete with the Nikšić team for the next season's regional competition.
"We didn't look good after the victory over Vojvodina. The concentration went to the other side, we were not strong, we were not strong enough to continue in the same rhythm in the Montenegrin league, where we experienced two defeats, which are certainly not pleasant. A very high-quality opponent awaits us, and the match in Nikšić should not be a benchmark. Vojvodina was not pleased with the defeat by us, especially since the difference was 17. This is their only defeat in the season, they won the other matches convincingly. We have a tough task ahead of us, but I believe in these guys. I hope for a good response and good energy, that we look for our chance and try to take advantage of it," said Sutjeska coach Dragan Bajić.
Like Sutjeska, Vojvodina is on the verge of two wins and one loss. Last year's finalist of the NLB ABA2 league suffered its only defeat this season in Nikšić.
"It's extremely difficult to talk about basketball after what happened a few days ago in Novi Sad, and as much as we in the locker room don't talk about it, we feel that tragedy and everything else is in its shadow. The match in Nikšić is our biggest defeat this season, many were happy to see it, but I think these boys showed that they can do much better. I repeat once again, basketball is not in the foreground now and I would invite all the fans to come and all of us pay tribute to the victims during those two hours. At this moment, it is irrelevant whether we will win or not, because there will always be basketball," said the coach of Vojvodina, Miloš Isakov-Kovačević.
In the second match of this group, last night in Sarajevo, Bosnia convincingly defeated Rabotnički - 84:58.
