The qualifications for the European Women's Basketball Championship continue, and the first of two matches in the November cycle will be played by the Montenegrin national team tomorrow (19) away against Luxembourg.
It will be a duel between two undefeated teams and a match that could determine the further course of the qualifications. After convincing victories over Bosnia and Herzegovina (91:70) and Switzerland (85:61) in November of last year, our national team has the opportunity to take a big step towards another continental competition and participate in the European Championship for the eighth time in a row.
"I'm happy that we're together again, because I really love this time when we meet and play for the national team. It's definitely the most beautiful part of our careers," Jovana Pašić, defender of our national team, told the Association's website.
Novljanka, who is playing in Israel this season, for Hapoel Kfar Saba, believes that this cycle can be decisive in qualifying for the European Championship, which will be played from June 18 to 29 next year in the Czech Republic, Germany, Greece and Italy.
"Two games await us in this cycle, the first visit to Luxembourg, and then on Sunday in Bar we welcome Bosnia and Herzegovina. I believe we can achieve two victories, because in that case we could practically see the European Championship already on Sunday" with a lot of optimism Pašić pointed out.
Like Montenegro, Luxembourg has two victories.
"There wasn't much time, but we really worked to the maximum. The professional staff, as always, prepared all the important information when it comes to the opponent, so we prepared the match. But, even so, everything is up to us - when we go out to field, where we have to show our true face and make a good result in Luxembourg with our heart, which would mean a lot to us - stressed Pašić.
After Luxembourg, our selection is waiting for a match with Bosnia and Herzegovina - on Sunday (18) in "Topolica" in Bar, with free entry.
"I would like to invite the fans and all basketball fans to come on Sunday to support us against Bosnia and Herzegovina, because we enjoy playing for this jersey, and they only add to that feeling," said Jovana Pašić.
