Latvian basketball player Janis Tima (32) was found dead near a hotel in Moscow, the media reports, stating that it was a suicide.
The media write that next to Time, a phone was found with a message from his ex-wife Ana Sedokova, who begged him to return her call. Tima and Sedokova recently divorced, and the media write that this could be the reason for the Latvian basketball player's suicide.
Sedokova is a famous singer. They were married in 2020, and started their relationship in 2019, when Janis broke up with his then-wife Sana, with whom he has a son, Christian. They divorced at the beginning of 2024, and Tim could not get over the breakup with Anna Sedokova and tragically ended his own life.
Tima started his professional career in 2008 in Riga. He performed for Liepajas, Ventspils, Zenit, and also played in Euroleague clubs such as Khimki, Baskonia, Olympiakos.

He played for the Latvian national team in 56 games and scored 9,2 points. In the Latvian national team jersey, Tima also played two matches against Montenegro - the first in September 2017, in the round of 21 of the European Championship, when he finished the match with 100 points, four rebounds and six assists, and Latvia won that match (68:XNUMX ).
Then he came to Podgorica with the Latvians, when there was a qualification match for the Mundobasket, which was held in China in 2019. Latvia then won (80:74), and Tim finished the match in "Morača" with 11 points.
Teammates from the national team - Kristaps Porzingis and Davis Bertans - also said goodbye to Time.
"Human connection is the cornerstone of our mental health. Please take care. JT (Janis Tima), rest easy," wrote Kristaps Porzingis on the platform X. Bertans announced on Instagram. "Rest in peace my friend. I will always remember all the wonderful times we spent together," said the Dubai player.
