New challenge for SC Derbi, Mijović: We will try to take advantage of Spartak's weaknesses, although there are not many of them

Exactly two months after the last victory in the AdmiralBet ABA league, the basketball players of SC Derby are going to the debut match in the regional competition.

On Saturday (18:15), Petr Mijović's team visit Spartak and have only one goal - to end the seven-game losing streak that has been going on since November XNUMX last year.

In that series, the "students" lost to Buducnost Voli, Crvena zvezda, Cedevit Olimpija and Igokea, and in the exciting finals they missed the chance to celebrate in the matches with Split, Mega and Borce...

"We are hosting a very good team that is very well managed. Spartak is filled with two or more players in every position. In the supplementary selection with Gibson and Ilić, he gained both aggressiveness and creation," said Derby coach Petar Mijović.

What does SC Derbi have to do to be close to winning in Subotica?

"Transition and "pick and roll" as the dominant structure of the opponent's attack is the key and focus of our defense. Offensively, we will try to take advantage of some perceived weaknesses, which Spartak as a whole does not have many of, Mijović added.

SC Derby defeated Spartak 84:76 in the first round of the season in Morača.

"Then we played excellently and deservedly celebrated. Compared to that period, Spartak has made several changes, it is in significantly better shape, but we know what awaits us and where the threats come from. We will try to surprise the favorite, and we can only do that if we give our maximum", said young David Mirković, who had a double-double performance in the last round in Čačak (14 points and 10 losses).

Spartak is fifth in the table with nine wins in 15 rounds, and has experienced players such as Montenegrin international Danilo Nikolić and Nemanja Gordić, and the former coach of Budućnost Volija, Vlade Jovanović, is on the bench.
