Basketball club Monaco was fined today by the EuroLeague for violating the competition's financial regulations.
"The Management Control Commission, an independent commission tasked with assessing the financial performance of clubs and ensuring their compliance with relevant regulations, has completed its assessment of Monaco. The commission has signed a settlement agreement with Monaco. The club was found guilty of violating two provisions of the Euroleague Financial Stability and Fair Play Regulations," the competition's website states.
Monaco failed to provide the Euroleague body with all the necessary financial information to assess whether the club was complying with the regulations, and the club from the Principality also violated the terms of the shareholder relationship.
The Euroleague did not specify the value of the fine.
