SC Derby basketball players lost in Zadar in a match in which they shot 31 times from outside the 6,75 line (hitting nine), but also only successfully made 11 of 32 attempts for two.
With such percentages, the "students" couldn't have done any better - the 71:58 defeat was completely deserved.
"We had a period when we could have come back, but we were hasty and lost the ball unnecessarily. That way we gave Zadar the opportunity to score easily from counterattacks," said coach Petar Mijović.
"I think we also overspent ourselves, we had an extremely poor two-point shooting - which is unacceptable at this level, and that affected our confidence a lot. We have a lot of games ahead of us, we are where we want to be, and we want to achieve some important victories in the rest of the championship," Mijović pointed out.
Zadar was simply better.
"Zadar's victory is absolutely deserved, they were in control. We were weakened by Zoran Nikolić's lack of play. Also, Erik Neal was cleared to play before the game because he had a fever," concluded Mijović.
