It wasn't easy, but victory number 10 in a row is here - the basketball players of Budućnost Voli managed to "break" the persistent Zadar (84:77) in the 19th round of the AdmiralBet ABA League.
The "blue and white" managed to escape the persistent guests several times, but Vladimir Mihailović's team always came back. However, in the end, the class of the Montenegrin champions prevailed.
"It was certainly our worst game in the last month or so - there is no doubt that there will be more, because the players are not robots," said Andrej Žakelj, coach of Buducnost, at a press conference.
He praised both his players and the opposing team.
"Congratulations to the players on the victory, but also to Zadar for playing a top-notch game with a lot of toughness, physically strong," added Žakelj.
He doesn't hide the fact that his team had problems.
"Yes, there were some - we were a little tired, we were a little drained from all these games. This was also evident in the number of turnovers in the first half - I don't think we've ever had that many in 20 minutes, but in the end, the most important thing is the victory," the Slovenian expert explained.
The victory left Buducnost at the top of the ABA League with Partizan, but it is also important because of the atmosphere ahead of Wednesday's decisive match in the Eurocup.
"It's important to rest, our heads were in Lithuania, but we have to forget everything and start getting ready for Wolves," concluded Žakelj.
