The first operative of ŽKK Budućnost Bemax, Zoran Vujičić, announced that the champion of Montenegro, as well as its branches in Podgorica and Trebjesa, could boycott the competition in the Montenegrin Cup.
As he said, the reason is the attitude of the Basketball Association of Montenegro towards the clubs.
"On behalf of Buducnost, Trebjesa and Podgorica, I can only announce that I am not sure that we will play in the final tournament of the Cup and continue competing in the Montenegrin championship. The professional part of the clubs has a meeting on February 8th due to the relations of the Basketball Association of Montenegro," said Vujičić.
Buducnost is bothered by the fact that several players without clubs play for the senior national team, which is fighting for a place in the European Championship.
"This is a shame and more than that, how the Federation treats our clubs. In my opinion, the national team is an integral part of the Federation, so we will give an adequate response. We are offended by the attitude, not only in the match against Switzerland, but also in the previous period," Vujičić pointed out.
"It is more than a shame and we, as serious people who invest some funds, will not allow anyone to joke with us. I am thinking directly of the Basketball Association. I cannot allow a few players who do not have a club or do not play for a second to play before the Buducnost basketball players. National teams from the region win with players from the WABA League, and the Buducnost basketball players, who are undefeated in that competition, do not get an adequate opportunity. Anyone who follows women's basketball knows that this is unacceptable," concluded Vujičić.
