The third semifinalist of the Montenegrin Basketball Cup is Mornar - Barani defeated Podgorica 82:81 in an uncertain match in Bijelo Polje tonight.
Podgorica had an attack to win, but Pavle Đurišić missed a three-pointer for the triumph.
Marko Sekulić's team had an 11-point lead during the first half (19:8 and 32:21), but Mornar closed the gap mostly thanks to Pember, who hit a three-pointer, so after a 10:0 run, Barani tied the game (37:37), and went into the break with a five-point lead (44:39).
The rest of the game was uncertain, as the teams alternated in the lead during the third quarter, and after 30 minutes it was 60:60.
Midway through the fourth quarter, after Balša Živanović's point, Podgorica had a seven-point lead - 71:64. Mornar maintained the lead thanks to Novak Peković and Srđan Bulatović, and after a three-pointer by Peković, tied the game (74:74), and then reached plus four - 78:74.
After new points from Pember, Mornar entered the last minute with a plus five (82:77), Podgorica reduced the lead to 82:81 through Živanović, then had a shot for the win, but Đurišić was inaccurate.
The most efficient player for the Mariners was Pember with 25 points. Tomason had 15, and Peković 12.
Podgorica's most efficient player was Žižić with 14 points. Živanović (13), Đurišić (13) and Smit (11) also scored in double figures.
Mornar will play against Buducnost Voli in the semifinals.
