After a year of hiatus, the Montenegrin Cup trophy returned to where it has been most often.
The basketball players of Budućnost Voli defeated SC Derbi 105:104 in an exciting final in Bijelo Polje and won this cup for the 17th time.
"To be honest, I don't know where the guys got this much strength from. We played with six players, and this is our fourth game in five days," Andrej Žakelj, the coach of the "blue and whites", told RTCG.
The future was led by the brilliant McKinley Wright with 34 points.
"He was watching with half an eye and I have to take my hat off to him for his energy and courage. I congratulate the team on the trophy, but also SC Derby on the match, as well as the organizer. We have been playing well for two months now, we have good chemistry. We had motivation, energy and calmness - it paid off," added Žakelj.

SC Derbi said goodbye to the trophy it won last year, but it did not disappoint.
"I think the spectators were able to enjoy top-notch basketball. Buducnost celebrated on the wings of players who make a difference in both the AdmiralBet ABA League and the Eurocup, I'm thinking especially of Wright, but also Fletcher Magee. We were on the level and I think we made it a top-notch final," said Petar Mijović, head of the "students" section, and added:
"Maybe we weren't at the right level defensively, but it's difficult to defend players who have that kind of quality. I congratulate Buducnost, and I hope that we will continue in this rhythm and that we will play more games like this this season."
