The Montenegrin national basketball team has two more matches to play in the European Championship qualifiers next week, and our team will be weakened in the matches against Germany, on Thursday (19) in Podgorica, and Sweden, on Sunday (17:30) in Stockholm, since captain Bojan Dubljević will not be there.
As coach Boško Radović announced at a press conference, Dubljević will miss this gathering due to family reasons.
When it comes to foreigners, the Kendrick Perry era is, as is well known, over. The wider list included Charlie Moore and John Radebau, but even then it was clear that Radović would count on the Murcia player in the qualifiers, since Moore was injured in mid-December. Radebau played his last match for Montenegro against Slovenia in 2022.
Also on the list is SC Derbija basketball player Igor Drobnjak, who was injured in the Cup tournament and missed the final against Budućnost Voli.
Montenegro is in an excellent position to qualify for its fifth EuroBasket in history, and third in a row. Our team is 3-1, and only a miracle needs to happen for the "reds" to remain in the continental competition.
This will only happen if Montenegro loses both matches, all teams in the group are tied at 3-3, and our team has the weakest goal difference, which currently stands at plus 28.
The European Championship takes place from August 27 to September 14 in Finland, Latvia, Poland and Cyprus.
The list includes: Nikola Ivanovic, Vladimir Mihailovic, Igor Drobnjak, Petar Popovic, Luka Bogavac, Djordjije Jovanovic, Dzona Radebau, Balsa Zivanovic, Dino Radoncic, Andrija Slavkovic, Nemanja Radovic, Marko Simonovic, Marko Todorovic, David Mirkovic, Emir Hadzibegovic and Zoran Nikolic.
