Red Star Belgrade lost tonight at home in Belgrade to Spartak Subotica 77:78 (22:14, 19:20, 21:30, 15:14), in the 25th round of the Admiralbet ABA League.
Red Star suffered its sixth defeat in the regional competition this season and is now fourth in the standings, one win behind third-placed Dubai and three behind leaders Budućnost Voli and Partizan.
Buducnost first - Red Star fourth, if that's how it ends up, it would be the projected semi-final pair of the playoffs, but there's still a lot to play for, five rounds...
Spartak celebrated with a basket by Rasir Bolton two seconds before the end. After a timeout, Red Star attacked through Kalinic, but the winger of the Belgrade club missed the winning shot.
The most efficient player for the Red Star team was Filip Petrushev with 23 points and eight rebounds. Nemanja Nedović added 13 points, while Jago dos Santos and Cody Miller-McIntyre each scored 10 points.
Umodža Gibson was the most efficient player for Spartak with 21 points (5/5 three-point shooting). Stefan Momirov added 16 points (4/6 three-point shooting), and Danilo Nikolić was also in good spirits, recording 15 points and eight rebounds.
