Teoda basketball players defeated Podgorica (79:72) last night at the "Bemax Arena" in the 23rd round of the First Montenegrin Basketball League and practically secured one of the two places that guarantee placement in the NLB ABA2 League next season.
In the First League, the matches against SC Derbi are not counted, and the results against Milenijum, which withdrew from the league after eight rounds, are also erased. This means that Dušan Dubljević's team is on a score of 17-3, while Sutjeska is on a score of 17-2, but the team from Nikšić will play the match of the 20rd round against Primorje in Herceg Novi tonight (23). If Sutjeska wins, then everything will be clear, and the team from Nikšić and the team from Tivat will definitely play in the ABA2 league next season.
Primorje is at 15-4, and Podgorica is at 15-5. Teodo is better than Sutjeska, Podgorica and Primorje in head-to-head matches.
After the 23rd round, there will be three more rounds until the end of the regular season, but Teodo and Podgorica will play two more matches each. Teodo will play against Dečić and Kotor, and Podgorica against Vukovi and Dečić.
On the other hand, Primorje and Sutjeska will have three more matches after tonight's match, but they will play against SC Derbi, whose results do not count. Nikšić will also play against Danilovgrad and Vukovi, and Novalja will play against Jedinstvo and Ibar.
When it comes to the match in the "Bemax Arena", Teodo led 10:6, then stopped, and Podgorica made a 14:0 run, led 20:10, and at one point had a 17-point lead (37:20).
The situation changed 180 degrees later - Dušan Dubljević's team, after a 9:0 run, came within 54:48, after Kusovac's three-pointer they came within a point of the deficit (59:57), and after Popović's point they took the lead - 62:61.
In the fourth quarter, Teodo went on an 11:0 run, took a 75:64 lead and secured the victory.
Miloš Popović led the Tivat team to victory once again this season, with 21 points and nine rebounds. Vujisić had 18, Vranješ 16, and Kusovac 12 points.
Against Podgorica, Jacobs and Đurišić scored 14 points each, and Radunović and Živanović scored 11 points each.
