Golden State Warriors took a 1-0 lead against Houston in the first round of the NBA Western Conference playoffs, after winning 95-85 in the first game on the road last night.
The Warriors were led by Stephen Curry with 31 points and six rebounds, shooting 5/9 from three, and Jimmy Butler scored 25 points, along with seven rebounds, six assists and five steals.
Brandin Podzemski contributed to the victory with 14 points, eight rebounds and five assists, while Moses Moody and Gary Payton each had seven points.
It was the 100th playoff win for Golden State coach Steve Kerr, tying him with Larry Brown for sixth.
Alperen Shengun led Houston with 26 points and nine rebounds. Dillon Brooks and Jabari Smith each scored 11 points, and Fred VanVleet had 10 points and seven assists.
The next game is played on the night between Wednesday and Thursday in Houston.
The Cleveland Cavaliers took a 1-0 lead against Miami in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs by winning the first game 121-100.
The Cavaliers were led by Donovan Mitchell with 30 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals, Ty Jerome with 28 points and five rebounds and Darius Garland with 27 points and five assists. Jarrett Allen added 12 points and 11 rebounds.
For the Miami team, Bam Adebayo had 24 points and nine rebounds, Tyler Hiro had 21 points, and Devin Mitchell had 18 points and nine assists.
The second game will be played on the night between Wednesday and Thursday, and Cleveland will once again be the host.
Defending champion Boston took a 1-0 lead against Orlando at the start of the Eastern Conference playoffs, winning 103-86.
Derrick White led the Celtics with 30 points, and Jayson Tatum had 17 points and 14 rebounds. Peyton Pritchard added 19 points and Jaylen Brown had 16.
In the Orlando team, Paolo Bankero was the most efficient with 36 points and 11 rebounds, and Franc Vagner had 23 points and five assists, and they were the only two players with double-digit points.
Boston will host the second game, which will be played on the night between Wednesday and Thursday.
